Pill 6 - Development and Industry 4.0
IMS and the development of a company towards Industry 4.0.
First of all, IMS focuses on that part of the supply chain normally forgotten, left aside because it is more complex and with less short-term revenue for suppliers. Let's talk about the part of the supply chain within production.
What is the status of a high level company before Industry 4.0?
Normally it has a good ability to control customers, materials and shipments. Often it produces more and stocks more product than needed but sufficient to meet market demands. An efficient structure yesterday, probably also today, but not tomorrow.
What does the company find in the market?
Surely many products that, more or less integrated with each other, increase the efficiency of CRM customer control by connecting it also to social media if possible, find more efficient MRP material management solutions and finally, extreme printing and warehouse management solutions unthinkable only a few years ago.
And in production?
In production there are essentially two types of software: MES and configurators of individual machines (printers, or scales, or quality control systems such as scanners or cameras).
